Penny Pierce Rose was raised a Southern Baptist by loving parents from Texas and heard God call her while attending church camp at the early age of nine. But high school peer pressure to party and college liberalism took her off the straight-and-narrow path until she married and became a young mother. Discontent with her life, she grudgingly attended a Bible Study Fellowship meeting with her persistent mother and was restored to a vital relationship with God. Soon her husband, Kerry, followed in the footsteps of faith, bringing salvation to their entire household.
Penny graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Political Science. After seven years with Bible Study Fellowship, Penny joined the leadership team of Women at Calvary (W@C). She serves as writer-in-residence for W@C, writing women’s Bible-study curriculum, promotional materials, skits, radio spots, and video scripts. She has served in many other capacities, including director of VBS, Kid’s Crusade Coordinator for Harvest Crusades with Greg Laurie, and secretary for the Women’s Committee of New Mexico Festival ’98 with Franklin Graham. Her writing has appeared in Why Fret That God Stuff? and God’s Little Rule Book. Her fervent desire is to minister to women by teaching them to study God’s word, apply the truths to their daily lives, and embrace the Christian life as a grand adventure. She continues to write and speak at conferences and retreats. She and her husband, Kerry, have three children: Erin, Kristian, and Ryan.
